Welcome to Texas AFA!
Welcome to the Region II Texas AFA Softball website. The Texas American Fastpitch Association returns to play in 2010 after a 3 year absence. We are excited about the future and the new direction Texas AFA will bring in 2010. Bigger and better events, tournaments and venues are planned for the 2010 season.
Fastpitch softball is a growing sport that involves not only the players, but their families and friends. Texas AFA will strive to not only allow the players, but their family and friends to enjoy the events as well. Texas AFA is committed to working to provide an environment that produces positive experiences for players, coaches, parents, directors and anyone else involved in the sport of Region II AFA Fastpitch Softball.
The American Fastpitch Association is a nonprofit corporation, under the direction of Terry Fulmer and Ron Gossmer. AFA was founded in Anaheim, California in 1980 for the promotion of girls youth fastpitch softball. AFA is operated by a group of volunteers from across the United States and has no paid staff.
AFA has held National and International tournaments for over 20 years. Teams from the across the United States, Mexico, Japan and Taiwan have participated.
Over 10,000 girls that played AFA Softball have received collegiate scholarships and many have gone on to become college coaches, play on the U.S. Olympic Team, or play for the Women’s Professional League.
Texas AFA in the coming weeks will be adding State, Area, Site and Tournament Directors, to better serve our AFA families. We look forward to seeing all of you PLAY AFA during the 2010 season. If at anytime you have a question, comment, concern or suggestion, please let us know.
Best Regards,
Roger Flores
